perfomance

 Yesterday I watched a number plays performed by music, dance and other perfomance students.

The play was based on ancient greek times where slaves what discussing how they work and how they fight for the Queen and King.
I feel that this was a really creative whether it was intensional or not by getting more then one group to perform the same piece. I enjoyed this because i got to see how the two groups had different interpretations of the acts.
For example there was one group where the woman had known that her son had died, she was mortified and couldn't believe what she had been told and struggled to give orders to the guards.

Then there was the other group where the woman had accepted it an gave orders about what to do without hesitating.
The groups continued to impress me with there body language and use of voice control;
No one turned there back to the audience and everyone was loud enough to hear but no one shouted unless there was an anger scene. These performances were  clearly worked on and this was evidential by the way that every one had an idea where the rest of there members were on stage.

I was sat towards the back on the last row and although i was among the shadows, I still felt as if i were sat at the front because of the way they played it out. At times a few members of the audience decided to shout amusing things out during silent periods of the play, but Nearly every one of them stayed composed and held a straight face. When moving the props on and off the stage  i felt that it was awkward and frustrating because of the pace of it all and the man behind me shouting to make them speed up (although it was for the best!)

At the end of the performance it was given a good standing ovation because of the class of it. Everyone performed well with no exceptions. Id give it a cheeky 8/10
