I reviewed Josh's track 'Mini' which was composed into a brilliant track, which fitted the genre. The drum choice was brilliant using the shakers and then the Djembe. I also love how he uses them as the kick drum, with a fretless bass behind it giving the hip hop vibe. The piano in its self is a beautiful riff that continues through out the track. It changes sometimes in pitch which adds an additional feel to it. This track could definitely become something great if the duration was longer.
I then reviewed Philipe's track Quick Beat.
This track had many different drums patterns and samples in it which i really enjoyed. It was was made from simple bells with 808s adding some bottom end. He then added in some intense strings which switched up the whole feel of the track and went back to the asian bells at the beginning of the track. The drum role that sounded similar to gun shots also added a unique feel to it.
I then listened to a James called 'All I can say' this track was one of my favourite because of the instruments used and the feel of the beat. The way that the drums came in was confusing and it worked so well. It was a type of beat that you couldn't resist to dance along to. Another reason why i enjoyed it so much was because of the simplicity of it. The space left between the drums is perfect. The bells that played a random melody on top made the song from how they combined with with the whole of the track, note wise and pattern. Well done James
I then chose Ewans track Void which included many effective filters right from the beginning an onwards. The synth he chose was calm an deep whilst the bells played apart at the top of the track. The dumb synth also kept the song to the genre. The drum pattern was slightly repetitive, but the track is only 1.28 so i expect it would change up after. All in all really good track.
